About Utopiacraft

Utopiacraft is a closed SMP Minecraft server whose theme is utopia, which Wikipedia describes as:

A utopia is an imagined community or society that possesses highly desirable or nearly perfect qualities for its citizens. The term was coined by Sir Thomas More for his 1516 book Utopia, describing a fictional island society in the south Atlantic Ocean off the coast of South America. The opposite of a utopia is a dystopia, which dominates the fictional literature.

There is a copious amount of books about the history of utopia and utopian communities. There is a long tradition of utopian literature. We’ve created a Minecraft server with this theme to provide a place to feature positive Minecraft building, lore and culture, while exploring this deep and weird history of utopianism. Expect to see builds based on historic and fictional utopian communities, explorations of utopian architecture, and much more.

The server is a multi-player, invitation only, bedrock survival world (in normal mode). Founded by PrairiePirateYo on Memorial Day 2020.

Utopiacraft is a multiplayer server with the theme of utopia. Players don’t have to follow that theme, but we expect positive builds, community and gameplay. Prairie likes to build libraries, expanded villages, and utopian architecture builds.

Utopiacraft 4.0

The current season of Utopiacraft started in early June 2023, right after Minecraft 1.20 was released.

Utopiacraft 3.0

Utopiacraft 3.0 was a recent season of our Minecraft Vanilla Bedrock SMP server, which started on May 29, 2021. Started right before the release of Minecraft 1.17
